Objectives

According to its statutes, the Association is a non-profit, academic entity independent of partisan, financial, media, or confessional groups. Its purposes are:

To encourage research and teaching of the social sciences of religion from a Latin American perspective. To encourage social scientists from Mercosur countries to contribute to analyzing the religious phenomenon in this part of the Latin American continent. To promote scientific meetings, congresses, seminars, meetings, and conferences, to exchange information among its associates and those of similar international scientific associations, to manage, together with public and private organizations, contributions and authorizations that contribute to the realization of its objectives, to support the publication of books and magazines on the subject of religion, and to manage, for this purpose, financial support from public and private institutions.
